Red, White & Rosé!
Summer is officially here and it's time to enjoy its pleasures. Summer is barbecue season and when it comes to grilled foods, red wine is indispensable and irresistible. Grilled meats have flavors that are perfectly balanced by a bold Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, or Syrah. We suggest you also consider our red Rhône blend 2006 Côte de Lune Rouge, Sonoma Valley, Lasseter Vineyards. This is one of the most consistently distinctive and accessible reds we produce. It may be the quintessential summer red wine. Warm summer evenings induce some of us to just want to relax on the porch and sip a refreshing glass of cool white wine. We can recommend our 2006 Chardonnay, Russian River Valley, Alary Vineyards or 2008 Gewürztraminer, Russian River Valley, Saralee's Vineyard. Both of these wines are dry, with good acidity and loaded with fruit. One of our summertime favorites is our 2008 La Rose, Sonoma Valley, Lasseter Vineyards rosé. The nose and flavors are overflowing with strawberries, cranberries and blackberries. The palate is crisp and dry. Delicious on its own, this rosé also pairs beautifully with grilled salmon or chicken and summer salads. It can even hold its own against barbecued sausages and meats. Arrowood Wines Arrowood wines are produced using grapes exclusively from Sonoma County in order to utilize and intensify the broad array of flavors that the vineyards here provide. We do this with a "non-interventional" approach, doing as little as possible to the wine - enhancing what Mother Nature provides with the judicious use of oak aging and layering of flavors based upon the terroir of a given vineyard.
